NNPC destroys 134 Illegal Refineries Recently

A destroyed refinery  By Favour Ifeoluwa & Akinola Ajibade  The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited( NNPCL) says it has destroyed 134 illegal refineries in the last few weeks.  Also, the company said  63 illegal pipeline connections were uncovered during the the weeks .  The corporation, In a visual report, stated that at about 2 am on Sunday, a joint team of security agents discovered a large wooden boat illicitly loading stolen crude oil from Barge AGS01 within the OML 18 operating area, noted intelligence report a large wooden wooden boat was caught receiving crude oil from the barge.  According to the state-owned oil firm, while the barge was towed away with a tugboat in custody, five speedboats used in towing the large wooden boat to the illegal loading site were also detained and the particulars of the tugboats and barge used for the operation were reportedly seized for further investigation.  It further said that two large boats, which involve

Axxela Limited, sub-Saharan Africa's leading gas and power  company, has announced another impressive safety milestone. 
Axxela, a strong player in the mid-stream gas marketing and distribution,has its  headquarters in Victoria Island, Lagos.
The company has now achieved 8 million man-hours with no lost time injury (LTI), surpassing the previous 7 million man-hours LTI milestone achieved in 2023. 
According to the company 'Chief Executive officer, Mr Bolaji Ogunsanya, the  achievement has affirmed the decision of Axxela to  strictly adhere to best practices and safety standards across its assets management, operations, and people.
He further expressed his satisfaction on the company's achievement. "We are proud of this significant safety milestone, which underscores our deliberate focus on maintaining the highest standards in our environmental, health, safety, and quality management system. 
The achievement, Ogunsanya said, is a testament to the dedication and commitment of the company' entire team, who continuously strive to create a safe and secure working environment for everyone." 
Continue further, he said the firm's achievement of 8 million LTI-free manhours is not just a statistical feat, but a reflection of its  unwavering commitment to operational excellence and the well-being of its direct and indirect workforce. 
 The achievement, he said, reinforces the company's position as a leader in the industry, where its motivates and ensuress that safety 
 remains at the core of its  operations. 
Similarly, the  Head of Environmental, Health, Safety, and Quality (EHSQ), John Okoro said in his remarks,  "Maintaining a safe working environment is not merely a priority for the company; it is a core part of our corporate culture that has been embedded into all our processes.
 This achievement also echoes the effectiveness of Axxela's safety  protocols, training programmes, and effective oversight of its 
 project management. We are not resting on our laurels but will remain dedicated to our cause to uphold stringent standards of safety performance and ensure that every service provider, partner, employee, and other stakeholders return home safely to their loved ones."he said.
Okoro said that Axxela remains ever-alert to reducing the risks within its operations, adding that the company views the health and safety of its employees, contractors, and the environment as a top priority as governed by its water-tight Environmental, Health, Safety, and Quality (EHSQ) management system.

NNPC Completes Mechanical Rehabilitation of Port Harcourt Refinery Plant

By Favour Ifeoluwa & Akinola Ajibade The Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited, says that it has mechanically completed the rehabilitation of Area 5 Plant of the Port Harcourt Refining Company (PHRC). The nation's oil company began rehabilitation of the refinery two years ago, while at the same time, promised to complete its by 31st December 2023. The Group Chief Executive Officer, NNPC Ltd., Mr. Mele Kyari, said as of December 15th, 2023, 84.4% of Area 5 Plant, a key component of the Refinery, and 77.4% of the entire rehabilitation project have been completed. “In our quest to ensure that this refinery is re-streamed to continue to deliver value to Nigerians, we made a promise that we will reach a mechanical completion of phase one of the rehabilitation project by the end of December and get the other plants running in 2024.
