NNPC destroys 134 Illegal Refineries Recently

A destroyed refinery  By Favour Ifeoluwa & Akinola Ajibade  The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited( NNPCL) says it has destroyed 134 illegal refineries in the last few weeks.  Also, the company said  63 illegal pipeline connections were uncovered during the the weeks .  The corporation, In a visual report, stated that at about 2 am on Sunday, a joint team of security agents discovered a large wooden boat illicitly loading stolen crude oil from Barge AGS01 within the OML 18 operating area, noted intelligence report a large wooden wooden boat was caught receiving crude oil from the barge.  According to the state-owned oil firm, while the barge was towed away with a tugboat in custody, five speedboats used in towing the large wooden boat to the illegal loading site were also detained and the particulars of the tugboats and barge used for the operation were reportedly seized for further investigation.  It further said that two large boats, which involve

NLNG Clarifies $27.5m payment to FIRS

By Favour Ifeoluwa & Akinola Ajibade  The Nigerian Liquefied Natural Gas Limited made a payment of  $27.5 million  to the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), not because it was coerced to do so by the tribunal, the gas giant's General Manager, External Relations and Sustainable  Development, Andy Odeh has said.  According to him, the payment  was done in furtherance of an out-of-court settlement agreement reached between the parties  and not because of any order made by the Tribunal. Odeh in a statement to the media, said that the company  remains a responsible corporate citizen, and consistently operates in compliance with Nigerian laws. By Favour Ifeoluwa & Akinola Ajibade  The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has declared the statement on crudes swap made by its former Chief Operating Officer, Upstream operations, Engineer Bello Rabiu as false and unfounded.  Rabiu had during the week at the quarterly Press engagement organised by the Major Energy Marketers Association of Nigeria( MEMAN) alleged that the Nigeria fuel consumption capacity estimated at about one million Metric Tonnes(MT) was currently being supplied through the crude swap, otherwise known as Direct Sale Direct Purchase (DSDP), importation programme of the NNPCL.  The DSDP, according to earlier reports by News Mirror, is a transactional framework adopted by the NNPCL after the 445,000 barrels of crude capacity refineries in the country went into comatose, with local and international traders contracted to lift Nigerian crude oil owned by NNPCL and deliver Petroleum Products. 'CBN Will Enhance Market Liquidity Soon'

CBN's Headquarters  By Favour Ifeoluwa & Akinola Ajibade  The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) will be enhancing supply of liquidity and stability in the foreign exchange market soon. The apex banking regulatory body, in a statement,  will achieve this goal, byselling foreign exchange to authorised  dealer banks and licensed Bureaux De Change (BDCs), a development, which aligns with its mandate to ensure  price stability and commitment to provide  a well-functioning market in the country.  Recall that there have  been fluctuations in the foreign exchange market, a situation which was  attributed to demand pressure from corporate entities and seasonal summer demand. NNPCL Reacts to Dangote’s Claims of Share reduction in Refinery to 7.2%

Dangote  By Favour Ifeoluwa & Akinola Ajibade  The President, Dangote Industries, Alhaji Aliko Dangote says the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) presently owns 7.2 percent of the refinery over failure to pay the balance of their share, which was due in June thereby reducing it from 20%. He said that NNPCL’s stake dropped to 7.2% over the company’s failure to pay the balance of its share, which was due in June. The 20 percent interest in the $20bn refinery is valued at $2.76 billion. In his words, “NNPC no longer owns a 20 percent stake in the Dangote refinery. They were met to pay their balance in June, but have yet to fulfill the obligations. Justice James Omotosho said the on Thursday after the court resumed Mamman’s arraignment on money laundering charge which was earlier stepped down by the judge.  The former minister pleaded not guilty to the charge preferred against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission. The EFCC had filed a 12-count money laundering charge against Mamman. He was alleged to have committed money laundering offences to the tune of N33 billion. The former minister served under former President Muhammadu Buhari from 2019 to 2021. In a statement issued by the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Common( NERC), the development is in compliance with the amended Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (CFRN) and the Electricity Act 2023 (Amended), reiterating that all transfers envisaged by this order shall be completed by 31 December 2024. A 64-year-old randy pastor, rFrancis Ogu, has been arrested( Thursday, June 27) in Awka, Anambra State capital, for allegedly defiling a 7-year-old to ‘calm his nerves’. Fed Govt Spends N14.77bn On Aircraft' Maintenance
