Oando Acquires Oil Block In Angola

Oando Plc  Favour Ifeoluwa & Akinola Ajibade  Oando Plc  says it has completed and won the bid for the operatorship of oil block KON 13 in Angola. The firm which recently acquired Eni of Italy’s oil assets in Nigeria, said that the award of the oil block located in Angola’s onshore Kwanza Basin followed a competitive bidding process by the country’s oil and gas sector regulator. It further said hat the asset in which it owns 45 per cent participating interest, has estimated prospective resources of 770 to 1,100 million barrels of oil. Akeredolu Off To Europe Tomorrow For Urgent Medical Attention, As Aiyedatiwa Takes Over

Ondo state governor, Rotimi Akeredolu yesterday, handed over power to his deputy, Lucky Aiyedatiwa. 

This follows his critical health conditions and the urgent need to fly him abroad for immediate medical attention.  Earlier,  the Nigeria's President, Bola Ahmed Tiinubu, has issued a directive to Ondo State House of Assembly to commence procedures on how to hand over the reins of government to Akeredolu' s deputy, Lucky Aiyedatiwa without conditions. 

In a statement  issued and signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Richard Olatunde, the state will expedite actions on the matter in order to ensure quick recovery of the governor.

Akeredolu will be embarking on medical leave tomorrow, Wednesday, December 13, 2023, as a follow-up to his treatment.

“During his medical leave, Governor Akeredolu will prioritise his health and ensure a full recovery before resuming his official duties,” the statement obtained by Platforms Africa reads.

He said a formal letter regarding the medical leave and a notice formally transferring power to the deputy governor in line with the Nigerian Constitution, will be transmitted to the State House of Assembly.

He said in the absence of Governor Akeredolu, the Deputy Governor, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, will assume the responsibilities of the Governor in an acting capacity.

Olatunde said, “Governor Akeredolu expresses his gratitude for the unwavering support and affection of the people of Ondo State. He assures them that his administration remains committed to the path of progress and prosperity for the people.

“As a Senior Advocate of Nigeria and a widely respected Nigerian, Governor Akeredolu has consistently delegated power to his deputy during his annual vacations. This practice was observed on April 1, 2021, April 1, 2022, April 3, 2023, and July 10, 2023, when he embarked on previous vacations. “
