NNPC destroys 134 Illegal Refineries Recently

A destroyed refinery  By Favour Ifeoluwa & Akinola Ajibade  The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited( NNPCL) says it has destroyed 134 illegal refineries in the last few weeks.  Also, the company said  63 illegal pipeline connections were uncovered during the the weeks .  The corporation, In a visual report, stated that at about 2 am on Sunday, a joint team of security agents discovered a large wooden boat illicitly loading stolen crude oil from Barge AGS01 within the OML 18 operating area, noted intelligence report a large wooden wooden boat was caught receiving crude oil from the barge.  According to the state-owned oil firm, while the barge was towed away with a tugboat in custody, five speedboats used in towing the large wooden boat to the illegal loading site were also detained and the particulars of the tugboats and barge used for the operation were reportedly seized for further investigation.  It further said that two large boats, which involve

Lagos Warns Residents Others Against Traffic Diversion

Lagos  By Favour Ifeoluwa & Akinola Ajibade Lagos government, yesterday, announced a 2-night traffic diversion from 12:00 midnight till 5:00 am in the state.  The government, in a statement issued and signed by the Chief Operating Officer, Proctor House Company Limited,Mr Oluwaseun Osiyemi, said that there would be diversion of traffic at  Alaka inward Stadium Flyover Bridge and Ojuelegba Flyover Bridge by the Fire Station. The statement said the closure begins from Friday 29th to Saturday 30th December, 2023 for the installation of truck barriers. He said consequently, motorists from Eko Bridge/Constain/Iponri inbound Ojuelegba/Alhaji Masha Road were to make use of the service lane from Alaka via National Stadium gate to link Barracks or Alhaji Masha Road to continue their journeys. Bandits bombed three electricity transmission towers belonging to Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN). Confirming the attack in a statement,the TCN noted that the destroyed towers are located along Maiduguri – Damaturu transmission lines. Dangote Refinery gets 4 million barrels of crude oil before  end of  year The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC) may provide Nigerians with a new year gift in January 2024. The gift, sources close to the National Oil Company ( NOC) is in form of mechanical completion of Warri Refinery and Petrochemical Plant. NNPC Completes Mechanical Rehabilitation of Port Harcourt Refinery Plant

The nation's oil company began rehabilitation of the refinery two years ago, while at the same time, promised to complete its by 31st December 2023. Egbin plant By Favour Ifeoluwa & Akinola Ajibade Nigeria has lost 676(MW)  megawats of electricity, due to the maintenance works, which are been carried on Egbin Power Plant, the News Mirror reports have said.  By this, some parts of the country, as usual are witnessing power failure, pending the time major faults are rectify on the plant  According to a notice issued by the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) the plant was shut down as at 11:13 hours of 18th December 2023, to allow the Nigeria Gas Company (NGC) to maintain a linking gas pipeline supplying gas to Egbin Power Station. The report said that the station will be shut down for three day Monday, the company stated. “This means a reduction of 676MW of bulk power generated into the nation’s grid for 3 days and consequently the quantum of bulk power available to be delivered to distribution companies load centers nationwide for the period”, TCN explained.

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL)  has a generated a total sum of N4.5 trillion revenue as at October this year, its Group Chief Executive Officer, Mele Kyari said this in Abuja. Late Dr John  By Favour Ifeoluwa & Akinola Ajibade The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Limited) has announced the death of a former Group Managing Director (GMD) and Acting Alternate Chairman of the Board of the defunct Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Dr Thomas Maurice Asuquo John, at the age of 84. NTA's Former Broadcaster, Bello Is Dead

Bello, who was well known on the Network News at 9pm, passed on in the early hours of yesterday, Monday. She was said to have served as a General Manager of the NTA Parliament before she retired in May 2022. Details about her death are still sketch at the time of writing this report. It was gathered that funeral prayer would be held for her at the National Mosque in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory, today. The late Bello was known to have worked alongside veterans like Cyril Stober, Eugenia Abu, among others. Senate  By Favour Ifeoluwa & Akinola Ajibade   Senate Committee on Public Accounts has issued a 48 hours ultimatum to the management of the Nigeria Ports Authority (NPA) to explain how it spend over  over  $1.8 billion in its purse . Also, the Senate through the Committee is  threatening to “use all instruments available by law to bring the management of NPA to order if it violates the ultimatum. Its Chairman on Public Accounts  Ahmed Wadada Aliyu,  recently in Abuja, said that the NPA management has been unable to clarify on the whereabouts of $ 852, 930, 730, $ 1, 878, 509, .57 belonging to the agency. Berating the Managing Director of the agency over alleged refusal to appear before the panel of the Upper Chamber of the National Assembly, Senator Aliyu bemoaned that a representative who was sent by the NPA to the panel was absent when it was time for the interface. Officials of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) and security personnel have uncovered an illegal oil refining warehouse in Mabushi, opposite the Mobile filling station on Ahmadu Bello way in Abuja. Mukhtar Galadima, the Director of the Department of Development Control, FCTA, disclosed that the illegal refining site was discovered during the city cleaning exercise. Three to four plots designated for commercial purposes were identified as locations where oil and diesel were being adulterated and circulated to other parts of the city. Galadima stated that the city sanitation task force would examine the legal provisions and make recommendations to the FCT Administration for further actions regarding the plots used for these illicit activities. Kaduna Apprehends Suspected Energy Thief

The development is a  a significant move against energy theft. The suspect named Opafola Abiodun lives at No. 18 Mopa Road, Kaduna.  In a statement signed by the Head Corporate communications of the company, Abdulaziz Abdullahi, the company alleged that Abiodun had been tapping electricity from the 11KV Leventis Feeder and was caught in an external by-pass on meter number 04190482713. According to the Head of Unit, Non-MD Metering, Mr. U.A. Gumel, Opafola was disconnected from the power supply on Sept. 28, and charged ₦104,823. The booking letter, duly acknowledged by Abubakar with GSM: 07056646853 on November 29, serves as a legal document confirming the charges, Gumel said.
