Fed Govt Slightly Reverse The Price of PMS

Queue at the filing station  The President,  Petroleum Products Retailers Owners of Nigeria( PETROAN), Dr Billy Gills Harry, says the reduction of the product, by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited( NNPCL) is good for the nation'struggling economy, as it would help in soften the difficult situations posed by the sharp rise in the price of petroleum products. While reacting to the issue through a statement issued and signed to the NEWSMIRROR yesterday, Harry said that the slight reversal of the price by NNPCL shows that the government is committed to the alleviation of the problems of the masses. According to him, the reduction in the price per litre of Petrol Motoring Spirit( PMS) from N1,020 per litre to N899 per litre is good, adding that the country will soon get over its problem, if the readjustment of the economy continues. Raping: Unilag' s Don, Babalola May Face Jail Term, If.....

A Don at the University of Lagos (UNILAG), Kadiri Akeem Babalola may be jail soon, in the event that the court found him guilty of raping a 20-year old student ( name withheld) of the institution. 
Babalola is a lecturer and Associate Professor of Botany in the school. 
He was arrested by the operatives of the Lagos State Police Command for allegedly raping a female student of the institution. 
It was gathered that, the girl accused Babalola of committing the crime during her visit to the lecturer’s office to address issues related to her results.
The victim, sources close to the school, reported the incident to the Inclusive Social Welfare and Empowerment Foundation, noting that the alleged assault occurred on August 16, 2023.

The NGO was later said to have reported the case to the Gender Unit of the Lagos State Police Command, prompting the Commissioner of Police, Idowu Owohunwa, to issue a warrant of arrest for Babalola through the state High Court after the UNILAG Vice-Chancellor was given a seven-day ultimatum to produce the professor.

It was further gathered that Babalola admitted to the crime when he was summoned for questioning by the Vice-Chancellor.

Confirming the incident, the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, on his account, said the professor would be arraigned in court soon.
