NNPC destroys 134 Illegal Refineries Recently

A destroyed refinery  By Favour Ifeoluwa & Akinola Ajibade  The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited( NNPCL) says it has destroyed 134 illegal refineries in the last few weeks.  Also, the company said  63 illegal pipeline connections were uncovered during the the weeks .  The corporation, In a visual report, stated that at about 2 am on Sunday, a joint team of security agents discovered a large wooden boat illicitly loading stolen crude oil from Barge AGS01 within the OML 18 operating area, noted intelligence report a large wooden wooden boat was caught receiving crude oil from the barge.  According to the state-owned oil firm, while the barge was towed away with a tugboat in custody, five speedboats used in towing the large wooden boat to the illegal loading site were also detained and the particulars of the tugboats and barge used for the operation were reportedly seized for further investigation.  It further said that two large boats, which involve

Egbin Leads At The 5th Saharalympics Games

Egbin Power Plant has emerged champions at the fifth edition of Saharalympics Games, organised by the Sahara Group, an energy conglomerate with special interest in generation, distribution and allied areas.

The firm, in a statement made available to the News Mirror recently, said Egbin for the second clinched the highest gold medals in many sporting activities at the event.

It said that the games were keenly contested by five entities namely Asharami Energy, Ikeja Electric, Egbin Power, Asharami Synergy and Sahara Group Limited.

Speaking at the finals held at the University of Lagos Sports Complex, the Chief Executive Officer, Egbin Power, Mokhtar Bounour, said  team work, dedication and consistency, combined together gave Egbin the much needed victory.

Bounour said" Our emergence as Champions in this 5th edition of Saharalympic has shown that Egbin is on top of its performances in  job and sport. 

Adding that: “This victory is dedicated to the management and entire staff of Egbin Power. It is a reflection of our quality preparation for the games, coupled with the fact that our work-life balance culture is at its best. We commend all the staff who contested in the games, courageously representing Egbin Power at the Saharalympics and eventually making the company proud,” 

He further applauded the participants who represented other entities, noting that they displayed the spirit of sportsmanship as they gave their best to make the 5th Edition very colourful.

At the finals, Egbin Power consolidated its victory by winning the 100 meters female and male, 200 meters male, and Ping Pong race. The GenCo clinched a total of 11 Gold, 7 Silver and 4 bronze medals.

Also, the Managing Director, Sahara Power Group, Dr. Anthony Youdeowei, said: The Saharalympics has become the symbol of Sahara’s commitment to fun in efficiency, a uniting platform that celebrates Sahara’s competitiveness, resilience and team spirit.”

Saharalympics is the biennial games organized for Sahara Group’s employees working in the various entities located across Africa, Asia Europe, and the Middle East. Games featured in the 5th edition of the tournament included football (male and female), volleyball, basketball, lawn table tennis, table tennis, Chess, Scrabble, Draft, Ayo including track and field.

NNPC Completes Mechanical Rehabilitation of Port Harcourt Refinery Plant

The nation's oil company began rehabilitation of the refinery two years ago, while at the same time, promised to complete its by 31st December 2023.
