Oando Plc Favour Ifeoluwa & Akinola Ajibade Oando Plc says it has completed and won the bid for the operatorship of oil block KON 13 in Angola. The firm which recently acquired Eni of Italy’s oil assets in Nigeria, said that the award of the oil block located in Angola’s onshore Kwanza Basin followed a competitive bidding process by the country’s oil and gas sector regulator. It further said hat the asset in which it owns 45 per cent participating interest, has estimated prospective resources of 770 to 1,100 million barrels of oil. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) yesterday, declared Chief Mukhail Adetokunbo Abiru as the winner of the Lagos East Senatorial Election, which took place last Saturday.
According to the INEC Returning Officer for the the area, Prof. Simeon Adebayo Oladipo, Abiru of the All Progressive Congress (APC) polled 178,646 votes to defeat his closest rival of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP who garnered 80,249 votes. This, Oladipo said, represents 61.4% of total valid votes cast.
In a statement signed and made available to the media, by Abiru's Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr Enitan Okukotun, the senator was
re-elected into the senate after satisfying the requirements of the law by winning majority of votes cast across the district.
Also, the Party's Presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu also showed significant strength in the zone, as he polled 149,685 votes to defeat his closest rival of the Labour Party, LP ,who scored 118,348. By this, Tinubu won with over 31,337 votes in the Lagos East Senatorial District.
