Oando Acquires Oil Block In Angola

Oando Plc  Favour Ifeoluwa & Akinola Ajibade  Oando Plc  says it has completed and won the bid for the operatorship of oil block KON 13 in Angola. The firm which recently acquired Eni of Italy’s oil assets in Nigeria, said that the award of the oil block located in Angola’s onshore Kwanza Basin followed a competitive bidding process by the country’s oil and gas sector regulator. It further said hat the asset in which it owns 45 per cent participating interest, has estimated prospective resources of 770 to 1,100 million barrels of oil. Power: Professionals needed to spur sector's growth

Nigeria needs more skilled workers to run the electricity sector  and further provide  uninterrupted supply of the product to teeming population, the Minister of Power,  Abubakar Aliyu gave this indication recently.
He spoke during the opening ceremony of a human development workshop organised for the existing and intending practitioners in the Nigerian energy sector. 
The theme is: Energise the Carrer Fair for the Clean Energy Sector with the support of the Federal Government.
The event is an initiative of the Nigerian Energy Support Programme (NESP), European Union( EU), the German Ministry for Economic Corporation and Development ( EMZ) and Deutsche Gesellschaft for Internationale Zuxammenatbelt (GIZ).
Others are Phillips Consulting Limited( PCL)
and West Africa Vocational Education ( WACE), 
a social venture , which specialises in  screening, training and providing local content, with a view to grow the nation's economy. 
Virtually all the bodies are instrumental to the successive completion of the programme, which
 ensures that ideas and talents  are synchronised in order to develop the Nigeria's power sector.
Represented by the Renewable and Rural Power Access , Engineer Abubakar Al-Dapshima, the Minister said that the Renewable Energy and the Energy Efficiency Sector has developed greatly over the years, coupled with the fact that they would need more  highly trained workers for the growth of the sector. 

One of the speakers at the energize forum, which took place at Landmark Event Centre Lagos.

He said; " The sector has continued to grow rapidly, a development which has resulted in a heightened need for skilled workforce, which would help in strengthening the energy access initiatives of the government and the actors in the power industry in particular. 
Similarly, the Head of Section, Green and Digital Economy at the European Union ( EU) Delegation to Nigeria and Economic Community of West African States( ECOWAS), Ms Inga STEFANOWICS, said that youths are critical to the development of the sector in the country..

"Youth and Job creation is a major aspect of the activities of the  European Union( EU) in Nigeria and we are happy to support the implementation of the activity, which has contributed to the 
Sustainable Development Goals( SDGs),
 especially the creation of decent work within the renewable energy and energy efficiency sector." she added.
The Head of Programme( NESP), Mr Duke Benjamin, posited  that the Carrer Fair would bring about major  developments in the energy sector in the nearest future.
Benjamin, who was represented by the Head of Unit, Sustainable Energy Access, NESP, Mr Olumide Fatoki, said that funding and right implementation is needed to prepare youths for the challenges in the industry and further create  jobs in the industry.
He re-emphasised the commitment of the partners to boost skills in the sector, as well as fostering growth. 
In a related development, ,s stakeholder in the sector, Dr Aminu ISA said that collaborations among stakeholders  would help in driving the growth of the sector. 
ISA, who spoke on behalf of the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Associations- Alliance ( REEEA-A) Steering Committee, said that the associations are synergizing in order to improve the standards of Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency programmes in the industry.

Axella Plans To Deepen Gas Utilisation in Nigeria

Axella' s Director of Business Development, Mr Franklin Imole By Favour  Ifeoluwa & Akinola Ajibade Axella's Gas Processing Plant announces Final Investment Decision ( FID) to develop a 50 MMASCF/D Gas Processing Plant, with h a view to deepen utilisation of gas  in the country. The firm, which is situated  in 0ML 56 in Delta State,  said that its making strategic investment in order to ensure that gas is available for industrial use in Nigeria.
