Oando Acquires Oil Block In Angola

Oando Plc  Favour Ifeoluwa & Akinola Ajibade  Oando Plc  says it has completed and won the bid for the operatorship of oil block KON 13 in Angola. The firm which recently acquired Eni of Italy’s oil assets in Nigeria, said that the award of the oil block located in Angola’s onshore Kwanza Basin followed a competitive bidding process by the country’s oil and gas sector regulator. It further said hat the asset in which it owns 45 per cent participating interest, has estimated prospective resources of 770 to 1,100 million barrels of oil. ' How fuel tanker killed one person, destroyed properties'

Facts have emerged over the cause of the recent fuel tanker explosion, which claimed the life one person and destroyed properties worth millions of naira 

News Mirror authoritatively gathered that scooooers were fingered to be the caus of the fire, which spread through some roadside  makeshift shops to its source at Ajegunle Bus Stop- Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service.

Affirming the cause of the inferno, the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service said that the  45,000 litres laden petrol tanker exploded in Lagos, killing one and destroying millions of property.

Director of the agency, Adeseye Margaret, said in statement said that though her  men successfully combated the Fire outbreak at Ajegunle via Toll Gate Bus Stop, Abeokuta Expressway, bordering Lagos and Ogun States. She blamed the nefarous activities of scoopers at the Toll Gate end for the fire. 

She said; " “The emergency which was in the midnight of Friday resulted from a Tanker meant to service Ayinde Oil Filling Station at Ajegunle  which accidentally spilled its 45,000 liters PMS contents while negotiating a bend to the Station before resulting to Fire from the nefarious activities of scoopers at the Toll Gate end. Causing it spread through some roadside makeshift shops to its source at Ajegunle Bus Stop.

“The situation is however being brought under control by the Agege, Ikeja and Alausa Fire Crews of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service with the use of tactical Firefighting application of Chemical Foam Compound to suppress the Fire,” she said.

The public is hereby assured, according to her, that the situation is under control as the process of mopping up and evacuation of the remains of the Fire is ongoing. They should however exercise caution and restraint as outbound Lagos traffic has been diverted to travel with the inbound vehicular traffic.

“Unfortunately, a male adult was recovered suspected dead likewise three various brands of vehicles involved in the Fire aside the Tanker and Shops. More updates on the unfortunate incident will follow.”
