Oando Acquires Oil Block In Angola

Oando Plc  Favour Ifeoluwa & Akinola Ajibade  Oando Plc  says it has completed and won the bid for the operatorship of oil block KON 13 in Angola. The firm which recently acquired Eni of Italy’s oil assets in Nigeria, said that the award of the oil block located in Angola’s onshore Kwanza Basin followed a competitive bidding process by the country’s oil and gas sector regulator. It further said hat the asset in which it owns 45 per cent participating interest, has estimated prospective resources of 770 to 1,100 million barrels of oil. Man jailed for destroying sub-station equipment

An Owerri Chief Magistrate Court has sentenced a man identified as Idris Ibrahim to two years imprisonment for vandalising power sub-station, as well as stealing telectrical armoured cable whort several million of naira.
The items belonged to the  Enugu Electricity Distribution Company ( EEDC))one of the distribution firms unbundled from the defunct Power Holding Company of Nigeria (;PHCN) during the privatisation of the sector in 2004.
Ibrahim ( 24)  was jailed by the Court sitting in Owerri on the basis of stealing and destruction of properties belonging to the utility company.
In his ruling, His Lordship Ojinnaja.C, said that the  office was punishable under section 390(9) of the criminal code CAP 'C38' Laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 2004 as applicable in Imo State.
According to him, the property  was situated at Imo Housing World Bank Estate in Owerri.
He said that the offence punishable under section 390(9) of the criminal code CAP 'C38', Laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 2004 as applicable in Imo State.  
Idris,, who pleaded guilty to the charge was apprehended on 16th March, 2022 by the residents  of the  and subsequently handed over to the New Owerri Police Station, along with the vandalized armoured cable.
In a statement issued by the Company's  Head of Corporate Communications Mr. Emeka Ezeh and made available to the News Mirror,  the firm said that the convict was  remanded at the Owerri Correctional Centre, in the state,  where he would be serving his term, while the court ordered that the recovered vandalized item with a view to hand it over to the management of the Enugu-base utility fir
He commended the efforts of the residents, who apprended the vandal, adding that their actions have shown that all the Statements made by the company in order to guarantee the safety of its properties was true.
Recall that a 22-year-old-man identified as Ifeanyi Ugwu was sentenced to three (3) years imprisonment by Hon. Justice H.A. Nganjiwa, at the Federal High Court 1, Awka, Anambra State, for vandalizing Aniawonwa 300KVA Transformer located at Eziama Village, Ojoto, Idemili South Local Government Area of Anambra State.
